I just learned of the update for this clock and have started to print the gears. My question is ... can I use the SP5 frame, or do I need to do a new one?
The spacer file has a spacer that is not on the print plane and gives a print stability error. A big spacer, top right hand side needs to be set down on the same level as the others. In Prusa Slicer it was easy to seperate the parts and print that one by itself, but I have no idea about other software.
Thanks for that Steve. I am printing the whole thing. I have the big brother ticking away nicely for the last few months, and an SB5 that passes all the tests with flying colours but refuses to run. It did run flawlessly for seven weeks and then just quit and just refuses to go again. Oh well, stuff happens!
That is correct. The changes ripple through the entire clock. If you print one gear, you have to print all the gears. If you print the new winding key in gear 9, you need new left side frame pieces. If you print the left side frame, you have to print the connecting frame pieces with matching alignment tabs.
If you give a mouse a cookie.... LOL
Unfortunately, the changes are all or nothing. You end up with an entirely new clock. The only parts that can be rescued from the old design are the pallet, pendulum, and weight shell. You could re-use most of the arbors and screws. I believe the results are worth it.
Assembly has started on the SP5B and should be ready to run later in the week.

Steve can likely repair the file and repost it.
Cheers
Just a quick one ... I LOVE the running time numbers on some of the gears! Can we leave them on or will they throw out the balance of the gear?
I am excited to get this one to run,
Cheers

Thank You for that info. I was afraid that was the case.
Cheers
Hallo, you can‘t.
Steve has modified it, for example adiitional bearings, hooks and the connection to the side parts.
