    Randomized Z-seam

    in Printed Clocks

I used the proper settings that called for the Randomized Z-seam and the back of The Small Pendulum wall clock that was on Thinigeverse. This setting made the posts on the back frame look like pretzels and I accidentally printed the escapement gear with the seam and the gear looks great. Is there a huge difference when using this setting?

I set a random seam in my profile and never change it. The little dots are more visible in some colors. They are fairly visible on your frame. I don't really notice them in the tan PLA that I often use.

They should be cosmetic, unless it leaves a small ridge on the gears that could be filed down. I guess there may also be settings that could be adjusted to minimize the seam size.
