Open to people selling your clocks?

    in General Discussion

Hi steve. A friend of mine has a print farm of sorts and saw one of your clocks that I made. He was wondering if you were open to allowing the selling of premade clocks (yours) for a percentage, up to 30 or 40% on Etsy or ebay. I told him I would ask for him, so here I am

    Hi John,

Thanks for asking. I feel it is wise to follow the lead of the wooden clock designers. Every single designer (Clayton Boyer, Brain Law, David Atkinson, etc.) has personal use only licenses.

In addition, MyMiniFactory has the following restrictions posted here Object licensing (myminifactory.com)

Digital files sold on MyMiniFactory through the digital file store have a strict non-commercial, personal use only license. You shall not share, sub-license, sell, rent, host, transfer, or distribute in any way the digital or 3D printed versions of this object, nor any other derivative work of this object in its digital or physical format (including - but not limited to - remixes of this object, and hosting on other digital platforms). The objects may not be used in any way whatsoever in which you charge money, collect fees, or receive any form of remuneration. The Standard Digital File Store License overrides any other licensing option on this page (in particular: no remixing and no commercial use allowed).

Many people report building many copies of each design to give away as gifts. That is perfectly acceptable as long as they are given away.
