Gear 9 on my 32 Day Clock Easy Build broke. I was wondering if I could use just gear 9 from the updated version? Otherwise, I suppose I could try modifying it myself. I'm even considering motorizing Gear 9 and automating the clock.

The gear 9 winding key was one of the updates in the big fix with new gears. It now has two 3mm posts that will never break. It also receives updated "Perfect Print Gears" to make the clock significantly more reliable.
Unfortunately, the new gears only mesh with themselves, so all the gears need to be reprinted. Gear 9 became slightly larger and interfered with the support column locations and the frame needed to be updated. The only components that can be reused are the weight shell and the pendulum. It is a significantly more reliable clock and well worth the effort in my opinion.
