Yes still using the small N20 motor but with the original spec the gears would strip, so found an alternative on Aliexpress. It has a slightly higher rpm and less gears. The motor runs on a 3v lithium battery situated under the ballast weight. A mercury tilt switch located at the end of the arm activates the motor when the arm drops about 10 to 15 degrees from just above horizontal. The ballast weight is just pla, apart from the single CR123A battery there is no additional weight.
The clock has been running for a few months now and has proved to be reliable.
Really love what you have done with the coup perdu.
Are you still using the small N20 motor and if so, how are you finding the reliability assuming that it is now lifting a larger weight or the same weight but with a greater radius.
I have built a few of the coup perdu clocks for family and friends and have found the N20 gearbox to be so-so from a reliability perspective.
Very nice looking extra additions. The stars on the moon phase dial look amazing. The extra weight on the Coup Perdu probably makes the clock much more reliable.
Hi Krys,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
