32 day easy build not running well

Hello,

I have successfully built a 32 day easy build clock a couple of months ago, and it was running very well until about two weeks ago. Now it will only run for 8-40 hours max before stopping, and I can't find what the cause of the problem is...

There are a few funny things about my clock that could be part of the problem: no 1, I have roughly twice as much string for the weight than necessary. Is this a problem? No 2, I lost one of the spacers in the pallet assembly, so one of the pendulum bearings is exposed. Could this lead to it having dust inside it and slowing down?

The weight on this clock is 2.2 kilograms, and I built the 8-day runtime option.

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

I'll really appreciate help, it's frustrating to have a semi-functionnal clock that has to be re-started all the time...

Good to hear you got it working. It might help to add a light coat of lithium grease on the pinions to keep things moving while the parts break in.

The pendulum shafts often warp after they are removed from the build plate. Sometimes they compensate because every other section is flipped over. It should be harmless.
