Clock 16 was running and then...
I finished clock 16, the easy clock. It worked well for a week. Then I disturbed it while changing to the printed weights.
I haven't been able to get it to run since.
I've dismanteled it down to the bearing about a dozen times. Every gear, spacer, bearing -- they all seem to spin freely on the arbors. THey are lined-up. I've tested every combination for easy spinning -- with and without various parts. If I remove the pallet gear the entire gear train spins like butter.
But when I put it together, it locks up.
I verified the frame-gear spacing.
That said, the six-week process has been a lot of fun. I went from zero knowledge and a borrowed old Creality printer to producing accurate prints. I admire the instructions -- so well done. I've had plenty time to admire the subtle engineering design decisionssthat align the gears. Even if it never rrunsagain, it ran once, and I'm very pleased I built the clock. A dozen times. :) Thank you, Steve, for the design and the parts kit.
The clock should run again with a bit more info to help with debug. It was working once, so it should be able to run again. Changing the weight is not likely to be the issue unless the weight needs to be doubled to account for the pulley.
What are the escapement characteristics? Does it spin quickly when the pendulum swings past?
