Forum discontinued by Wix

The Wix website host I have been using sent a message that the forum utility will be discontinued as of 15-Oct-2025. New posts will no longer be allowed after 15-Oct-2025 and all posts will be deleted on 01-Mar-2026.

They recommend switching to a new "Groups" utility and provided a conversion tool that made it look easy. All existing posts appear to have been transferred to groups on 16-Sep-2025. Hopefully, this new utility will be easier to use than the existing forum utility.

Parts kits for SP5B are available on the Etsy store. They are intended for builders to 3D print and assemble their own clock. Completed clocks for sale do not exist.

Small Typo in SP14 Build Notes

Love the notes, fully appreciate the design work, as well as the effort and clarity of the notes.

I only point this "typo" out, because I followed it, and had to partially dismantle the completed clock to replace the incorrect part.

In short .... Thank you Steve for a great design and the documentation to produce it. Hope this doesn't sound critical, it was after all my mistake, in not catching the wrong part before full assembly. The correct part was already cut to length in the parts tray. This incorrect part was made (without much thinking) late in the pre-assembly steps.

Please refer to page 26, figure 20,gear 4 pre-assembly.

the 3mm shaft should read 4.5"/ 115mm instead of 5"/125mm

Best regards ... keep up the good work

Thanks for reporting it. I will make the edit for the next time I make a release.

SP14 7a

Good day! Assembled a SP 14 Moon Phase clock this weekend. The process was lovely and smooth when following the documentation, but I don't see where the documentation mentioned adding spacer 7a to the 3mm shaft that the ratchet rides on. This component doesn't seem to be mentioned when assembling the ratchet. The diagram on page 37 doesn't show the component, either. I did figure it out after working on the clock; wanted to let you know.

The manual is very well-written! I appreciated the attention to detail and diagrams. That's why I wanted to let you know about this very small oversight.
