printing gears larger than print bed
Steve,
curious how you would go about printing gears larger than the MK3/4 print bed?
certainly they would need to be cut into smaller pieces, but how to join the pieces strongly enough to function as a clock gear?

That is not something I would want to try. Any discrepancy will cause two teeth to be either too close or too far away from each other. The gears will very likely bind up.
If you really want to try it, I suggest getting rid of the spokes so the gears are solid. PrusaSlicer has an option to split a part using dovetails so the parts have a chance of staying aligned when re-assembled.
If you only need a small increase in size, you can trick the printer into using the area of the initial purge line. There is at least 4mm of extra area on a Prusa MK3/4.
