Hey Steve, where did you source the 1/32" felt as used in your Coup Perdu clock?

Steve, do you have a suggested methodology for chasing down a situation in which some gear(s) are making a clicking sound, and sometimes the gear train is totally stopped. Yet when I run the gears by hand, I notice none of those things. Disclosure: the clock fell off a short table onto the floor, but I did not see any visible signs of damage. Prior to the fall, the clock ran flawlessly. thanks Mike

Steve, what color/brand of filament did you use for the sp12 as shown in your video thereof? thanks Mike

Steve, since you are into gears and stepper motors and arduinos and 3d printing, have you ever considered designing a small robot?

Steve, in your assembly instructions for the large crazy gear clock, gear 3b-15 appears in two different places, once on page 51 and once on page 52. Since there is only one gear 3b-15 I'm guessing this is an error?

In General Discussion
Steve, now that I am almost finished with the 3rd of your clocks, I want to give you a shout out for your really excellent documentation. Those docs have made building your clocks a delight. Now if Prusa would just hurry up and release the faster firmware for the MK4!

version 2 of the spade minute hand is a different shape than versions 0 and 1. It prints outline rather than filled in. Perhaps the wrong file?

In Wood Gear Clocks
Steve, as you consider wood clock plans, pls keep in mind that some of us cut them with a laser printer/cutter. Thickness isn't usually an issue because it is easy enough to laminate thinner pieces. Similarly I cut and splice to create pieces otherwise too large for my printer. I've been using either baltic birch or hardwood veneer on mdf for my clocks, most of which are Clayton Boyer design.

Altho I really like the large silent clock, but it would be nice if it had a tick tock option; perhaps impulse the second hand to move and tick once every second instead of running smoothly? The nano may have enough room to add a tick program and drive a tiny speaker. My wife said upon seeing the silent clock for the first time: "what, a clock that doesn't tick!" I'm sure it is a personal preference thing but thought I'd mention it.

Steve, now doing final assembly on this clock, and discovered that the hour and minute hands are an extremely loose fit on their respective shafts. I printed them with 14 perimeters so I could print all 3 hands at the same time. Could that be the problem? The second hand fits fine however. Thanks

Hi Steve, Received your assembled circuit board today, but it did not come with any jumpers. Should they have been included? Thanks Mike

Steve, I am encountering a strange printing glitch on the white layers on the large silent clock: namely the white layers print smoothly until the last few layers where it develops what might best be described as a wrinkled appearance between 8-12 oclock and between 3-6 oclock...tried twice with two different white filaments to same result...using your recommended printer settings but with the change from 5 to 4 perimeters...wonder if you have any ideas on what might be the cause? thanks Mike

I note that you call out 14 perimeters for the second hand; what do you recommend using for the minute and hour hands? thanks

the list of parts in the docs on page 20 do not quite match the list of parts in the stl download...for example, none of the gears listed in the doc on page 20 show up by the same name in the stl download list...is there an update that might address this issue?

so I learned 1- that xcrun is not needed, just cancel the dialog that comes up offering to install it 2-that it is better to load a sketch than it is to copy and paste 3-that the sketch works better if all the jumpers have been installed--somehow I missed one 4-and works even better if none of the jumpers are installed with cold solder joints! bottom line, success--stepper motor is running now on upload from macintosh

you show a short jumper just above the text "vmot gets shorted to vcc" for edit 5; but looking at the two thru hole places where one end of the jumper goes, I don't see any traces feeding those two holes, so I don't see how that jumper could do anything

apparently this popup message is unique to macintosh; it has been reported as an issue by several people, but I don't yet see a fix...someone did note that installing the code does work, but it is very large... may be time to switch over to windows mode, sigh
